Some new facts about Rockstar's upcoming project 'L.A Noire' have been revealed, most notably that the title which was believed to be PS3 exclusive is also due for a release on Xbox 360.

In the game you take on the role of Cole Phelps, a cop investigating a series of murders in Los Angeles during the 1940's.

The gameplay is said to feature realistic crime scenes in which the player will need to carefully observe their environment in order to identify the clues needed to progress with the story. There will also be a dialogue system not dissimilar to those often seen in Bioware titles.

Graphically the game uses a distinctive style of colour, paying homage to the visual style of film-noir films, as the title indicates. There is also set to be revolutionary facial motion capture technology to deliver realistic in-game recreations of character movements.

No solid release date has been given for L.A. Noire, though it is expected in 2010.

I do like the sound of this game, a nice change of pace and hopefully, very involving.

One thing that worries me is that they might try and get too clever with the crime scenes, making it overly fiddly to progress.

Nothing worse than a puzzle killing a game dead.
