26 Feb : 07:52 ![]() | Wasnt last year only slightly down compared to 2008 (or maybe it was even higher - sure I read that somewhere) so I doubt its anything to do with recession. Especially when 2008 was one of the highest earning years ever for the games industry. I think its just more like Darth says - people are buying from supermarkets & oinline now. Maybe the public is finally realising that the Game stores can be full of arse rapery with its prices. |

At this time people go with the cheapest and customer loyalty isn't what it once was, also the other two options are more convenient for many. You can pick up a copy of that game you've been looking at with your weekly shopping, etc. |

26 Feb : 10:36 Reply to this | GAME aren't even competitive onlne though are they?Their usually £2 to £3 more expensive on every new release so if anything they need to look at their prices and realise they need to become competitive to keep sales up. |

In Sheffield Meadowhall Centre alone there's two Game stores and one Gamestation, which I always thought was a tad excessive. Really feel for the employees that are gonna be made redundant though. |
